The key operational requirement we faced was to provide reliable relative direction. A false direction means that when in reality what we look for is in our front and right, false direction indication will show it in our back and left.
To provide reliable direction – our key technological challenge was to overcome the RF reflections problem – which significantly intensify indoors.
And we need to do so while still being able to maintain small form-factor of the HW, simple SW and algorithms, and minimal power consumption. We needed our solution to be flexible – to enable integration into different devices and objects – from smart-phones, to smart-watches, IOT devices, clothes, sporting equipment and many other objects.
SunBeam™ novel RF Direction-Finding (DF) technology enables us to provide a radar-alike display, and it is based on taking advantage of the direct Peer-2-Peer wireless communication between devices.
These unique assets enable us to find the true, reliable relative directions, relative distances and even heights differences.
By doing so, we avoid the need to deploy infrastructure, to create updated maps, and to maintain updated databases – as well as to develop specific, dedicated chipsets.
